Hydrogen Bonding Networks Enable Brønsted Acid‐Catalyzed Carbonyl‐Olefin Metathesis**

Abstract Synthetic chemists have learned to mimic nature in using hydrogen bonds and other weak interactions dictate the spatial arrangement of reaction substrates stabilize transition states enable highly efficient selective reactions. The activation a catalyst molecule itself by hydrogen‐bonding networks, order enhance its catalytic activity achieve desired outcome, is less explored organic synthesis, despite being commonly found phenomenon nature. Herein, we show our investigation into this underexplored area studying promotion carbonyl‐olefin metathesis reactions hydrogen‐bonding‐assisted Brønsted acid catalysis, hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) solvent combination with para ‐toluenesulfonic (pTSA). Our experimental computational mechanistic studies reveal not only an interesting role HFIP assisting pTSA catalyst, but also insightful knowledge about current limitations reaction.
